Tarako’s Kewpie pasta sauce
These Japanese commercials made me think, not for the first time, that pretty soon some bright spark’s going to make a “live action” TV show that stars both toys and children; Toy Story except with the product actually on-screen. They’re for a Japanese pasta sauce (the pepper characters are the product’s mascot). The styling reminds me of Loretta Lux and there’s a similarly weird off-kilter vibe to them.

eeeuu…. why do the japanese have to cast children who look part caucasian part asian? is it because they have secret pride in their history under the USA?
