La Jetée
This is good- Amy Stein posted a version of this on her blog. I’d never heard of it; a short movie that was the inspiration for Terry Gilliam’s “Twelve Monkeys”. Which probably isn’t the greatest recommendation in the world, but it’s a Sci-fi “movie”, done on a shoestring budget, with still images;
It’s quite inspiring. It looks to me like the missing link between comic books and movies. Particularly in the underground sequences where he’s in pain or when he goes into the future. The changes in pace, from lingering over a shot, to cycling through shots, works well.

saw this in college in the 80’s. nice that it is getting some new recognition.
