Montauk Monster
This washed up on the beach at Montauk recently, and is causing internet speculation about what it might be. Some are saying it’s viral marketing, for the new X Files movie. Oooweeooo. The truth is out there. Silly season has arrived. Still, it reminds me of the story about some poor soul who was stabbed in Croydon, the night of the release of GTA4. People queuing outside Gamestop thought it was a publicity stunt for the game. “While waiting outside the store, a man stood next to us and was covered from shoulder to belly in blood. Myself and others thought it was a show to promote the game but when we looked closer, he had been knifed repeatedly” said an onlooker. There was another one, recently, when Metro in London carried a feature about the shape of “dark matter” in the universe. People looked at the image, assembled from thousands of Hubble photographs, and thought they saw a Hershey’s bar. Ok, I made that one up.
